Unique Wedding Ideas

If you want your guests to remember your wedding day as long as you will then why not incorporate some of these unique wedding ideas into your special day?

Wedding Reception Decor

unique wedding reception
The Bride and Groom can write a list of 20 things that they love about each other. Give this list to a sign company and ask them to make you two signs like the one pictured, They shouldn't cost more than about £20 each.

Hang the signs at your reception for all your guests to see as they enter.

After your wedding day they will make lovely keepsakes to hang in your home forever. A permanent reminder of why you married in the first place.

A Choreographed First Dance

unique first dance
Nothing is more memorable than a choreographed first dance. A tradition for many years the first dance is symbolic of the beginning of married life.

Most dance schools will be happy to help you both come up with something. It doesn't have to be too over the top but with the current popularity of dancing competitions on TV it's sure to be a winner.

Choose something that you'll both be comfortable in performing remembering what your attire will be on the day. If nothing else it'll look great on your wedding video.

Video Booth Hire

Hiring a video booth for your guests to use really gets everyone involved. It's a lovely addition to your wedding video and will enable your guests to convey their wishes and to be immortalised forever.
You can look back on the day for years to come and remember the special few hours that you were in the company of friends, family and loved ones who had assembled to witness your coming together. Video Booths are usually available from wedding videographers for a small additional fee.

Unique Guest Book

What's the sense of having a guest book that will end up living in the attic forever? Why not come up with a unique guest book alternative?

A garden bench maybe that all the guests can write on, it can then be varnished and used in your garden.

For something that will last forever, why not provide stones and marker pens to all your wedding guests. Get them to write their message on a stone, you can then display them at home in a glass vase or jar and look at them every day.

What other unique guest book ideas can you think of?

Wedding Venues in Merseyside

Choosing a venue for your big day isn't just about cost, there are many factors to take into consideration. Most venues have a maximum number of guests that they can cater for so try to have a figure in mind before you start to shortlist suitable venues. Many venues have restrictions on confetti, it's only a minor point but one to bear in mind.

Will you have guests travelling some distance? If so would you like a wedding venue with accommodation? Ideal for when Your old Aunt has been on the Vintage Bollinger all evening!

Do you have any special requirements? Is it a civil ceremony? A religious ceremony or a same sex ceremony? It's important to check with the venue that they are licensed for the type of event that you want.
Most of all however the venue needs to feel right, it's your special day and it needs to fit in with what you've had in your minds eye. Give consideration to how your Wedding photography and video will be enhanced by the venue, the backdrop and the ambience.

Most Wedding Venues in Merseyside now offer the complete package including the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the evening reception. There are some fantastic packages available and some truly wonderful wedding venues not just in Liverpool but all over Merseyside. We've listed a few of our favourites.

Winter and Spring Weddings

Winter or Spring Wedding
A Winter  or Spring Wedding isn't something that immediately comes to mind when dreaming of your big day. Most happy couples usually  imagine a sun soaked blue sky as a canopy over their holy union. Winter and Spring Weddings however are becoming more and more popular and here's why.

Winter Weddings Cost Less

If you're planning a wedding in the North West and are keen to get the most out of your wedding budget then read on. With the cost of living on the up and the economy still faltering, value for money has never been so important. The wedding industry is traditionally less busy during the winter months and so in order to keep at least some income rolling in you'll find some fantastic deals to be had not only on wedding venues but also on wedding cars, flowers, wedding videos, and all the other associated wedding services. With the average UK wedding costing around £20,000 you can expect to save up to 50% by getting married in Winter or early Spring which equates to a whopping £10,000!

What Months Are Best?

Typically peak season for Weddings in the UK runs from April to September, that means that off peak rates are usually available from October to March. You could opt for a safe bet and try to get a date as late into March as possible although traditionally March can be as wet as October. Why not go for the months that are really different? December through to early February have seen some snowfall and frosty days. The wedding party is usually wrapped up well in hired suits and it's perhaps only the Bride that would need to give some consideration to her bridal gown. When you give it some thought, there isn't really a lot of time spent outside other than walking in and out of the venue so the outside temperature isn't really an issue.

Other Benefits Of A Winter Wedding

Photogrpahy and wedding Video in Winter
Other than the huge cost incentive, the other obvious benefit is that of atmosphere. Many wedding venues in the North West are beautiful period buildings, Imagine the roar of an open fire, The illumination that adds ambience and the charm that only winter can bring.

Best of all, photographs and wedding videos look very dramatic when taken during the winter and spring months.

If you are planning a Wedding in the North West then give some serious consideration to the off peak Winter and Spring seasons, there are many more benefits than just value for money.
